There is a basic difference between the normal camera and a 360 camera. In a general camera, you capture or view a picture in a rectangle. But, in a 360-degree camera, you capture a picture in a sphere. It’s like you are standing inside the center of a sphere and everything around you is captured.

You move your phone or PC browsers with the mouse pointer to see around the sphere. The easiest example is a Google Map street view. This is exactly what you see in a 360 camera.

There are other differences between a 360 camera and a regular camera. The regular camera captures the image of a particular frame. The quality is usually much better of that frame than the 360 camera.

When you are considering the full view or panoramic photos then 360 cameras win. But, when trying to get photos for landscape or face, you still need the regular camera for better resolution. Looking at 360 photos you can move it around and check every corner of the photo.

360 cameras are still in an experimental phase for using in our everyday video shooting or image capturing.

In the case of the 360 videos, you are not totally in control. Things are happening all around you. You can focus only at a direction in a single time. If you have to watch everything then watch the same video at least four times from a different angle.

Today’s mobile phone and smart TVs are great for watching 360 photos and videos. There are many software with those you can easily output them on your phone. Facebook like social media also supports 360 and 3D photos.

  2. Press and shoot with easy interface.
  3. The mobile app is easy to use but pretty basic. They have a theta+app for editing photos.

Ricoh Theta V might not be the best in the market, but it is a very reliable camera. The compact design and fast image and video capturing power with remote playing functionality is pretty good.

We wish their app is far better than this. Although it’s simple and easy to watch videos and photos.

The camera is not waterproof and you need to buy the case separately. The camera can grab sounds well, but for better performance, you need to buy the microphone also.
